Break the Silence: Multiple Missing DC Girls

Month after month multiple African-American and Latina girls continue to go missing in the nation’s capital.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus are calling for a federal investigation after months of daily social media outcry from around the country.

In a letter Tuesday, the lawmakers asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director James Comey to “devote the resources necessary to determine whether these developments are an anomaly, or whether they are indicative of an underlying trend that must be addressed.”

The Metropolitan Police Department recorded 501 cases of missing children so far in 2017, and said 22 cases were open as of Wednesday. As the number of open cases decline, the root of these odd disappearances have yet to be discovered.

“When children of color go missing, authorities often assume they are runaways rather than victims of abduction,” they added.

When we go missing there is silence.

We must do everything possible to find our girls.

If you have any information that might lead to the whereabouts of these missing girls, please contact the Metropolitan Police Department.
